In 1999 we launched the countrywide first officially distilled beer brandy, thus paving the way for whisky making in Switzerland. Our Swiss Mountain Single Malt Whisky was introduced in 2008. Built directly over the brewhouse, the Rugen Distillery has a one-of-a-kind placement in Switzerland.
Acquired over decades, our beer-making expertise really comes into its own when producing whisky. Most of our whiskies are put into Olosoro sherry casks and matured in the deep, rock-hewn Rugen rock cellar built in 1875.
