Get out of the daily routine - into the brewing business!

Have you always wanted to know how an aromatic beer is made? is made? Or spirits are produced? Then our brewery and distillery and distillery tour is just right for you. You will discover all production stages up to the product. The guided visit lasts about 2 hours. The crowning finale is a beer tasting.

Experience a tour of the unique brewery in the Bernese Oberland and the Rugen Distillery. Our guest guides will accompany you through the production and perhaps let you in on one or two secrets.

Visiting hours by appointment

Monday to Friday: 9.00 - 18.00
(last tour start 18.00 hrs)

Saturday: 9.30 - 16.00
(last tour start 16.00 hrs)

There are no tours on Sundays and holidays. The tours are offered in German. English and French available upon request.

Group sizes and prices

Groups up to 10 persons flat rate CHF 280.- (incl. VAT)

Groups from 10 persons CHF 28.- per person (incl. VAT)

The price includes a whisky tasting (dram), a beer aperitif (beer, Mountain Twister or mineral water) with pretzel and a stone mug as a souvenir.

Brewery tour

Reception and welcome (outside) - cash desk (payment) - beer aperitif - cinema film (history) - brewhouse - laboratory - water treatment - fermentation and storage cellar - filtration - barrel filling - energy center - steam boiler - bottling - Rugen Distillery - whisky cellar - Rugen Gnuss-Wält.

Duration: approx. 2 hours

Important to know

  • The tour has many stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
  • The tour is at your own risk, any liability of Rugenbräu AG is excluded.
  • There is a risk of slipping throughout the plant. Please wear good shoes.
  • Please do not complete the tour in high military shoes with black soles.
  • Photography and filming are permitted for private use only and only to the extent that the tour is not disturbed.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the tour.
  • It is forbidden to touch any equipment; this applies in particular to all copper hoods.
  • We reserve the right that persons in an alcoholic state may be excluded from the tour or the tour may be stopped because of this, without refund of the amount paid.
