The whiskey matured for 5 years in the barrel (No. 375) Pineau des Charentes in the Tropical Garden in the Tropical House Frutigen.
Nature
Pineau des Charentes is considered a fortified wine and consists of lightly fermented grape must and eau-de-vie, or Cognac portions. As legend has it, Pineau matures in oak barrels. The specialty Vieux Pineau also acquires its complexity through overlong aging in oak barrels.

The storage facility in the tropical garden, with high humidity and warm temperatures, gives the whiskey a particularly voluminous body. The maturation under these conditions leads to a complex aroma game with a very long finish.
Nase
Smell
Aroma of subtle vanilla and caramel, coupled with nuances of ripe apricots. The smell is reminiscent of preserving jam, with hints of tropical fruits like passion fruit.

Taste
The attack is pleasantly soft and captivates with its ripe fruits that play seductively on the tongue. Malty-spicy notes with clearly recognizable oak bouquet round off the whiskey elegantly. In the finish, the whiskey unfolds dry-spicy, long-lasting and reminiscent of walnuts and almonds.
