Eiger Ultra Trail

The Eiger 3970m and its north face fascinates both mountaineers and trail runners. In 1858 the local guides Christian Almer and Peter Bohren with their guest Charles Barrington were the first to reach the Eiger summit. The so-called last problem of the Alps, the Eiger North Face, was climbed in four days in 1938 by Anderl Heckmair and Ludwig Vörg, as well as Heinrich Harrer and Fritz Kasparek. Today, the world's best mountaineers climb the wall solo in under two and a half hours.
